Tested & Approved: My Honest Review of 5 KISS Press-On Sets

If you read my last post on my $12 press-on prep routine, you know I am fiercely loyal to KISS Nails. But with so many colors, lengths, and lines sitting on the shelf at CVS, Walgreens, or Target, how do you know which ones are actually worth buying?


I’ve done the testing for you! Here is my honest breakdown of 5 exact KISS sets I’ve worn—from my everyday corporate go-tos to vacation-only sets.


1. KISS Magnetic "Apple Blossom" (My Go-To

Signature)


  • Length/Shape: Medium Almond

  • Vibe: Grown-up chic with a playful sparkle

  • My Experience: I wore this exact set continuously for like three months straight this past year—I kept buying it over and over! The color makes me feel mature and put together, but the magnetic shimmer adds that fun, youthful pop I always like to incorporate into my outfits. They are a touch long at first, but after wearing them for a couple of days, I got totally used to the length and could type at a solid speed.

  • Rating: 10/10 (My absolute holy grail)


2. KISS Color "Dulcet" (The Corporate Sweet Spot)

  • Length/Shape: Short Almond / Oval

  • Vibe: Ultra-professional, clean, and effortlessly classy

  • My Experience: I am wearing these right now! They make me feel so polished and professional, and because of the short length, I can type at 100% of my normal speed without issue. Best of all, they match literally every outfit and don't draw any side-eye from older generations in the office who aren't fans of long nails!

  • Rating: 10/10 (The ultimate office staple)


3. KISS Magnetic "Glittering" (Spooky Season Surprise)

  • Length/Shape: Medium Almond

  • Vibe: Moody, magical, and deep plum/purple

  • My Experience: I picked these up thinking they’d be more of a classic berry-pink, but once applied, they definitely pull much more purple. While it wasn't quite the vibe I wanted for mid-summer fashion, this set is a 10/10 choice for Halloween and spooky season. The magnetic dimension in the deep purple shade is stunning for fall!

  • Rating: 7.5/10 for summer, 10/10 for October!


4. KISS Magnetic "Twinkling Stars" (The Vacation Special)


  • Length/Shape: Medium-Long Almond

  • Vibe: Fun, bold, and playful

  • My Experience: I’ve worn this style a couple of times for trips! Side note: according to my boyfriend, these nails give the absolute best head scratches. I only wear them when I’m on vacation or away from school/work because they are definitely too long for a corporate typing environment, and they can occasionally clash if I’m trying to stack a lot of other accessories.

  • Rating: 8/10 (A top pick for trips, not for typing)


5. KISS Glam 3D "Seraphic" (High Drama for Events)

  • Length/Shape: Long Coffin / Clear French

  • Vibe: Ultra-glam statement nails

  • My Experience: These are gorgeous—the clear "water design" on the tip is so unique! I wore them to a wedding, but they were definitely too long for me to function normally. I spent the whole night stressed that one was going to snap off. Also, the underside of the tip is softer to create that clear water effect, which makes it easy to scuff if something scratches underneath the nail. Beautiful for photos and special events, but not for everyday life!

  • Rating: 6.5/10 (Gorgeous aesthetic, low functionality)


The Takeaway


If you're looking for an everyday set you can wear to work or class, stick to short almond styles like Dulcet or Apple Blossom. If you're heading on vacation or want a weekend statement, that's when you bring out the Twinkling Stars or Seraphic!
